Biography

Marguerite Higgons

Member of the Paris Bar and a graduate of the EDHEC business school, Marguerite Higgons has a business-oriented international intellectual property practice and works with all types of companies: international groups, SMEs, mid-cap companies and start-ups.

 

She provides strategic advice, and has litigation and contract activities in all areas of intellectual property and related rights: trademarks, patents, copyrights, designs, unfair competition, parasitism, new technologies, digital law, personal data (GDPR), denigration and publishing.

 

She also audits intellectual property assets, particularly in the context of mergers and acquisitions.

 

Marguerite Higgons has developed an expertise before the Jurisdictions (Tribunals, Courts of Appeal), and Industrial Property Offices (INPI and EUIPO): counterfeiting seizures, actions for counterfeiting, unfair competition, parasitism and denigration; proceedings for refusal of registration of trademarks, opposition, invalidity and revocation.

 

She also represents clients in domain name recovery or deletion proceedings before the Association in charge of managing the domain name registry in France (AFNIC).

 

She is fluent in English and Spanish. She works on a daily basis for foreign clients in the context of international advice and litigation.

 

Marguerite Higgons is a member of APRAM (Association of Trademark and Design Law Practitioners) and AIPPI (International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property).
